Reviews the characteristics of autism and defines what the world sees in terms of behaviors as a result of this complex disorder. Discussions will explore the realities of families living with autism and increase the understanding of autism to help families cope with daily challenges.

Successful Daily LIving: Strategies for the Home and Community - Tuesday, April 10, 2012
Reviews autism and daily life for families of children with autism with a focus on structured routines and strategies that detail and demonstrate ways for more positive and successful daily living in both the home and community.

Behaviors and Assessment Strategies for Children with Autism - Tuesday, May 8, 2012
Explores how we can interpret and understand the causes of behaviors, the effects of reinforcement, and how to plan a response in order to change a child's challenging behaviors into successful outcomes.

All three training sessions are offered from 10:00am - 12:00pm and again at 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Act 48 credits are available. Family attendees are free. Professionals are $50 per session. Call Bobbie at 610-696-8090 ext. 200 to register.

IEP Clinic with McAndrews Law Offices - February 9,2012
Bring your child's current IEP and evaluation. You will complete an intake form upon arrival, followed by a brief presentation about basic tips to develop an appropriate IEP. REgistrants will then be given an opportunity to meet with one of seven special education attorneys to discuss any difficult issues. 9:30am - 1:00pm at the CCIU, Boot Road, Downingtown. Open to all with no registration; however, please pre-register if you want individual time with an attorney. RSVP to dotties@righttoed.org.

Special Needs Planning - February 16, 2012
Pat Bergmaier, LUTCF, Met Life Special Needs Financial Planner will address important issues that need to be addressed for your dependent with special needs: government benefit eligibility, guardianship/conservatorships, and financial security.
