The Arc of Chester County’s life skills program (habilitation) helps adults with disabilities learn the necessary skills to live more independently. Participants will learn to take charge of their lives and access community resources. This program is available to those who wish to pay privately and to those with funding from the Chester County Department of Mental Health/Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or the Office of Developmental Programs.

This flexible life skills program is tailored to meet individual needs. Specialized instruction by skilled trainers is offered in participants’ homes, in the community, or at The Arc. Life skills support is available individually and includes skills related to activities of daily living such as:

  • Basic cooking
  • Health & Wellness
  • Meal Planning
  • Money Management
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Fire & Community Safety

* Formal Medicaid term is Habilitation.
